Employment Advisor – Support Jobseekers into Sustainable Employment

About the role

The Employment Advisor works in Redruth and Penryn to help long‑term unemployed individuals overcome barriers and secure sustainable work. You will manage a caseload, build relationships with employers and community partners, and promote the Restart Scheme across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Meet with jobseekers, assess barriers and create personalised action plans.
• Provide one‑to‑one support including CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
• Engage local employers to identify suitable job opportunities.
• Refer participants to internal and external services for health, housing or financial issues.
• Promote the Restart Scheme and raise its profile in the community.
• Achieve performance targets and KPIs while managing workload efficiently.

Required profile

• Demonstrated coaching or mentoring experience.
• Strong persuasion and influencing abilities.
• Background in a customer‑facing role (e.g., hospitality, social care, sales).
• Experience in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
• Willingness to travel locally to meet participants and employers.
