Employment Coach

About the role

Acorn Training is seeking an Employment Coach to help customers realise their potential and secure sustainable employment. You will work within a fast‑growing training provider, supporting a diverse range of job seekers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a customer case load to ensure progress towards sustainable employment.
• Provide one‑to‑one information, advice and guidance sessions.
• Prepare job‑search materials and tailored products for each customer.
• Develop relationships with local employers and understand the local labour market.
• Support and sign‑post customers with pastoral, literacy and numeracy needs.
• Offer advice on learning programmes and qualifications.
• Coach customers and promote positive employment behaviours.
• Monitor performance against national benchmarks and contractual requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, set SMART targets and track progress.
• Work with varied groups including young adults, adults, learners with disabilities, lone parents and offenders.
• Adhere to policies on Child and Adult at Risk, Data Security, Health & Safety, Equality and Quality.
• Represent the company professionally and fulfil any additional role‑related requests.

Required profile

• Full NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service, Business Administration, Accounting or IT (essential).
• Ability to work with diverse customer groups and understand local employment markets.
• Commitment to the company’s quality, equality and health‑and‑safety standards.
