Employment Legal Director – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an Employment Legal Director to join a leading international law firm in Leeds. You will provide commercially focused employment advice to a diverse client base while mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic employment advice to corporate clients, senior management, HR teams and in‑house counsel.
• Handle disciplinary matters, grievances, dismissals, redundancies, restructuring and TUPE transactions.
• Manage Employment Tribunal claims, including whistle‑blowing and discrimination cases.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies and other documentation.
• Support corporate transactions and conduct employment investigations.
• Build long‑term client relationships and supervise trainees, junior lawyers and paralegals.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 7+ years PQE in employment law.
• Experience in both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
• Proven track record advising employers, senior stakeholders and handling tribunal matters.
• Strong commercial acumen and excellent client‑management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop junior team members.
