Employment Solicitor – 2-3 Years PQE

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Employment Solicitor with 2‑3 years post‑qualified experience to join a well‑established, growing law firm in Ashford. The role offers the chance to work with a diverse client base, providing high‑quality, commercially‑focused advice on a broad range of employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise employers and employees on issues such as restrictive covenants, unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, whistleblowing and TUPE transfers.
• Draft, review and negotiate settlement agreements.
• Manage cases from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring efficient progress and regular client updates.
• Deliver clear, commercial legal advice tailored to client needs while maintaining confidentiality and data security.
• Meet financial targets, including fee income and chargeable hours, and collaborate with the Credit Control team on billing and debt management.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
• Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and SRA/Law Society CPD requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 2–3 years PQE in employment law.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and case law.
• Experience advising on settlement agreements.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
• High commercial awareness and client‑focused approach.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and results‑driven.
