Employment Solicitor – 5+ PQE – Leeds

About the role

An experienced Employment Solicitor is needed to join a thriving practice in Leeds. You will work closely with the Managing Director to develop the Employment department while handling a diverse caseload of both contentious and non‑contentious matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of employment law matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, settlement agreements, tribunal proceedings, redundancy, contracts of employment and HR policy advice.
• Provide advice to both employer and employee clients from instruction through to completion.
• Oversee a dedicated paralegal or trainee and utilise modern case‑management systems.
• Develop relationships with local businesses and HR professionals to support department growth.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Employment team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years PQE (or equivalent) in employment law.
• Proven ability to advise both employer and employee clients independently.
• Excellent technical knowledge of employment legislation and strong client‑care skills.
• Effective time‑management and ability to meet competing deadlines.
• Experience with case‑management systems is advantageous.
• Willingness to mentor junior colleagues and support business development.
