Employment Specialist – Folkestone, Hythe & Dover

About the role

Looking for a role where you can genuinely change lives? The Forward Trust is seeking compassionate, motivated Employment Specialists to join the Connect to Work team across Folkestone, Hythe and Dover. This full‑time position works 35 hours per week, with part‑time or reduced‑hour options considered based on business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide CV writing, job application assistance and interview preparation.
• Deliver career coaching, confidence building and job‑search support.
• Run one‑to‑one and group support sessions.
• Build relationships with local employers and identify job opportunities.
• Support inclusive workplaces and arrange reasonable adjustments.
• Offer in‑work support to help participants sustain and progress in employment.
• Collaborate with community organisations, health services and training providers to remove barriers.

Required profile

• Experience in employability, recruitment, health & wellbeing, adult learning, or coaching is desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Confidence working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Positive, person‑centred approach and belief in equal employment opportunities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
