Employment Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Employment Specialist to support individuals through the five stages of Supported Employment. You will build rapport, empower clients with choice and control, and act as their advocate while delivering high‑quality employment services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive vocational profiles and conduct detailed job analyses to identify support needs.
• Provide job‑matching, pre‑employment preparation and on‑the‑job coaching, including workplace adjustments and mentoring.
• Calculate benefits and offer disclosure support, ensuring compliance with the SEQF quality framework.
• Maintain accurate data entry, complete contractual and internal documentation, and meet KPI targets.
• Engage with partners, employers and community organisations to promote the programme, generate referrals and negotiate work trials.
• Facilitate integration with local services, develop circles of support and promote a zero‑rejection philosophy.

Required profile

• Experience working with a caseload in a supported‑employment or similar setting.
• Strong ability to build trust, advocate for clients and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
• Commitment to quality standards, accurate record‑keeping and continuous improvement.
• Ability to meet and exceed KPI targets and adhere to contractual requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the SEQF quality framework and supported‑employment best practices.
• Proficiency in benefits calculations and disclosure processes.
• Competence in job analysis, vocational profiling and labour market analysis.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
