Employment Tax Manager

About the role

You will join an established employment tax team that advises a diverse portfolio of clients, from owner‑managed businesses to large corporates and international groups. The position combines advisory and compliance work, allowing you to shape client relationships and support the team’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver employment tax compliance and advisory services.
• Advise clients on PAYE, NIC, benefits, expenses, terminations, PAYE audits and governance matters.
• Support clients with HMRC enquiries, reviews and disclosures.
• Collaborate with colleagues across tax and other service lines on cross‑disciplinary projects.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and support their technical development.
• Assist with business development and contribute to thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in employment tax gained in practice or an in‑house environment.
• Comfortable operating at manager level with client‑facing responsibilities.
• CTA, ATT or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience).
• Strong technical capability combined with a practical, commercial approach.
• Enjoys working collaboratively and mentoring junior colleagues.
