Enabling Support Worker

About the role

As an Enabling Support Worker you will help individuals live a full and flourishing life by delivering personalised care in line with their person‑centred support plan. You will work within Shaftesbury’s Independent Living service, supporting people of all ages to engage with their community and maintain independence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care and, where trained, administer medication safely.
• Follow the direction of the person supported and their support plan.
• Maintain accurate records of care activities and observations.
• Cover sleep‑in shifts and receive an additional £60 per sleep‑in session.
• Encourage participation in local activities and community services.

Required profile

• Passionate, caring and community‑oriented attitude.
• Reliability and flexibility to work a 40‑hour week, including occasional sleep‑in duties.
• Ability to follow instructions from service users and adhere to care standards.
• Commitment to promoting independence and wellbeing.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; training will be provided for personal care and medication administration.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £12.95 (40 hours per week).
• Additional £60 payment for each sleep‑in shift.
• £500 bonus after 12 months of continuous employment (terms apply).
• Birthday day off (taken from annual entitlement).
• £30 gift voucher when the service achieves a good rating from CQC/CIW/RQIA.
