Energy Account Manager

About the role

NFU Energy is seeking an experienced Energy Account Manager to act as the trusted first point of contact for a portfolio of agricultural and horticultural clients. You will provide proactive, evidence‑backed advice on electricity and gas procurement, trading strategies, risk management and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with a portfolio of complex energy clients.
• Deliver proactive advice to support client energy strategies and business objectives.
• Advise on electricity and gas procurement, trading options, contract structures and risk mitigation.
• Monitor market developments and alert clients when action may be required.
• Support contract reviews, renewals and supplier negotiations.
• Liaise with energy suppliers, brokers, metering providers and other third parties to resolve issues.
• Assist clients with compliance and incentive schemes such as FIT, ROC, REGO, Capacity Market and RHI.
• Collaborate with technical and compliance specialists to identify opportunities for generation, cost reduction and efficiency.
• Provide insight to the Sales team for new client opportunities where specialist energy knowledge is needed.

Required profile

• Strong experience in the energy sector, preferably in account management, consultancy, procurement, trading or supplier management.
• Demonstrated ability to understand agricultural and horticultural client pressures and priorities.
• Excellent client‑facing and advisory skills with a focus on delivering practical, evidence‑based recommendations.
• Interest in energy market developments, regulatory changes and incentive schemes.
