Engagement Fundraiser – Cambridge Biomedical Campus

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Engagement Fundraiser to join our team at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. You will build meaningful relationships with patients, families, hospital staff and the wider public, helping them understand how their support improves care.

Key responsibilities

• Engage face‑to‑face with visitors, recruiting new regular donors and encouraging consent for future communications.
• Deliver warm, honest, supporter‑centred conversations that highlight the impact of donations.
• Maintain accurate supporter records and ensure a high standard of supporter care from the first interaction.
• Work towards fundraising targets while upholding the charity’s values and compliance standards.
• Contribute to team meetings, reporting and collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Experience in fundraising, sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, events or another public‑facing role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence speaking to diverse audiences.
• Friendly, positive attitude and ability to build rapport quickly.
• Resilient, self‑motivated and comfortable approaching members of the public.
• Strong attention to detail when capturing supporter information.
• Organised, able to work independently across different locations.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary £26,000‑£28,000 per annum (pro‑rata), dependent on experience.
• Flexible working: full‑time (37.5 h) or job‑share part‑time (18.75 h) on a fixed‑term contract (9‑12 months).
