Engineer – Highways Design

About the role

We are seeking an Engineer to join our Highways Design team in Salford. The role involves delivering highway designs, drawings and documentation for the National Highways Scheme Delivery Framework. You will work within a supportive civil engineering team and benefit from a range of development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed highway designs in line with approved procedures for local and national authorities.
• Produce design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation, and design drawings.
• Deliver technical and feasibility studies that meet client specifications and assess risks, materials and costs.
• Conduct on‑site investigations, analyse data and produce technical files and documentation.
• Mentor junior staff, maintain client relationships and promote health and safety on site.

Required profile

• Member of a professional engineering body (IEng/CEng) or working towards competence.
• Strong working knowledge of civil engineering design software, e.g., AutoCAD.
