Engineer I, Workplace Technology

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a motivated IT Engineer to join its Workplace Technology team in London. You will own and operate critical services, delivering projects independently or guiding peers, while ensuring the reliability and security of the company’s endpoint and collaboration tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver project‑level work with minimal guidance, acting as the subject‑matter expert for Jira and Confluence.
• Provide advanced technical support and policy management for macOS and Windows endpoints using Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
• Lead incident response, triage complex issues, and mentor junior engineers.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts in Python or PowerShell to reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• 2–3+ years of experience in an IT engineering or similar technical role.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to articulate technical trade‑offs.
• Proactive “owner‑operator” mindset, taking responsibility for long‑term health of systems.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
