Engineer Surveyor – Lifting & Crane Equipment

About the role

We are seeking an Engineer Surveyor with specialist knowledge of lifting and crane equipment to join a leading inspection consultancy. The role involves field inspections of forklifts, mobile elevated work platforms, passenger lifts and cranes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and delivering detailed reports to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of a variety of lifting equipment and plant machinery.
• Identify defects, perform mechanical fault‑finding and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all customers meet LOLER and PUWAR regulatory requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
• Provide high‑quality customer service and support throughout the inspection process.

Required profile

• Minimum Level 3 engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher).
• Hands‑on experience with forklifts, platforms, passenger lifts, cranes, diggers, dumpers, military vehicles or aircraft.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding abilities.
• Experience in manufacturing, military, marine, distribution or field‑service environments.
