Engineering Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and organised site‑based Group Buyer to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Group Purchasing Manager, the Engineering Buyer will ensure the right materials, equipment and services are sourced to support operations and projects across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main purchasing contact for engineering and operational teams.
• Manage purchase requisitions and ensure timely, accurate ordering.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, monitoring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Prepare RFQs and tender documents, supporting cost analysis and supplier selection.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for improved sourcing and standardisation.
• Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of suppliers, materials, and equipment; select and support the development of suitable vendors.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies and promote safe working practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier‑management skills.
• Logistics and compliance experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable.
• High level of numerical accuracy and analytical ability.
• Professional and confident communicator.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude and commitment to company culture and safety standards.
• Flexibility in working hours and occasional travel to European sites.
• Ability to work across operational and manufacturing environments.
