Engineering Compliance & Facilities Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Compliance & Facilities Manager to join our Skelmersdale site. In this senior site‑leadership position you will ensure safe, compliant and sustainable engineering operations while driving efficiency, reliability and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage site‑wide engineering compliance programmes, covering electrical systems, Legionella, pressure systems (PSSR), lifting operations (LOLER), local exhaust ventilation (LEV), F‑gas, fire protection and process safety systems.
• Coordinate audits and inspections, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise for utilities and plant systems, monitor performance and implement improvement initiatives.
• Drive energy management, sustainability projects and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Manage facilities and utilities service contracts, establishing robust facilities‑management frameworks.
• Govern contractor control, safe systems of work and uphold high safety standards.
• Lead, coach and develop the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong experience in engineering compliance, utilities or facilities management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UK statutory compliance and engineering standards.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and service providers.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
