Engineering Geologist – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our well‑established multidisciplinary consultancy in Leeds. You will deliver ground investigation projects from field mobilisation through to final reporting, working across residential, commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise ground investigation works such as rotary drilling, cable percussion, window sampling and trial pitting.
• Log soil and rock samples in line with BS EN ISO 14688 and BS EN ISO 14689.
• Schedule and manage soil, rock and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
• Maintain accurate field records and high‑quality site documentation.
• Oversee subcontractors to ensure safety, efficiency and programme adherence.
• Prepare factual ground investigation reports and assist with geotechnical assessments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider project team.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Proven experience on ground investigation projects.
• Knowledge of soil and rock logging to current industry standards.
• Strong written communication and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Full UK driving licence.
