Engineering Manager – High Voltage Transmission

About the role
We are seeking two Engineering Managers to join a high‑voltage transmission contractor working on a detailed design phase in Scotland. The role is hybrid, requiring 3‑4 days per week in the office, and operates on a PAYE basis within IR35.
Key responsibilities
- Review and verify design documents to ensure compliance with SSE standards.
- Respond to technical queries raised by the client.
- Liaise closely with the construction team to align design intent with on‑site execution.
- Assess the buildability of designs and provide recommendations for improvement.
Required profile
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in high‑voltage transmission projects is essential.
- Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is desirable but not mandatory.
