Engineering Manager

About the role

Our client, a market‑leading engineering business in the bridge and infrastructure sector, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing engineering function. You will combine technical expertise with team development, strategic planning and client engagement to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers and technical specialists.
• Review and approve structural calculations, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership on steel structures, structural analysis and best practice.
• Work closely with clients to create innovative, commercially viable bridge and infrastructure solutions.
• Manage resources, workloads and project priorities to ensure successful delivery.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and technical assessments as required.
• Drive improvements to engineering processes, systems and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM 2015 regulations.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Extensive structural design experience, especially in steel structures and fabrication.
• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong background in bridge engineering, infrastructure or heavy construction.
• Excellent understanding of structural analysis, load calculations and finite‑element methods.
