Engineering Manager – Manufacturing Engineering Team

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of eight Manufacturing Engineers at our world‑class facility near Middlesbrough. The role combines hands‑on engineering support with strategic leadership in a highly regulated, electro‑mechanical production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 8 Manufacturing Engineers.
• Provide engineering support for production, servicing, commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and the integration of new equipment and technologies.
• Monitor and achieve departmental KPIs, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
• Oversee safety, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in manufacturing/production environments, preferably with complex electro‑mechanical products.
• Background in regulated sectors such as defence or aerospace.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, ready to step up from Senior/Lead Engineer to manager.
• Training in Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen methodologies.
