Engineering Manager – Manufacturing & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering functions at a well‑established client in Burscough. This permanent position offers a competitive salary, flexible working hours and the chance to drive key projects across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage maintenance and manufacturing engineering teams to meet business objectives and customer requirements.
• Develop and implement engineering, maintenance and asset‑management strategies to improve reliability, productivity and cost performance.
• Establish, maintain and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Oversee engineering resources, budgets and priorities to maximise operational effectiveness.
• Drive manufacturing engineering projects focused on process improvement, automation, capacity enhancement and waste reduction.
• Ensure compliance of plant, machinery and facilities with legislative, safety and company standards.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and maintenance systems to minimise downtime.
• Support introduction of new equipment, products and processes, including handover, documentation and training.
• Lead root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions for equipment failures and quality issues.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role such as Maintenance Manager, Engineering Team Leader or Head of Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources and multi‑disciplinary projects.
