Engineering Manager – Subscriptions

About the role

Paddle is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Subscriptions team, the core of the company’s recurring‑revenue engine. You will own the product that enables customers to manage the full subscription lifecycle – from plan changes and proration to trials and flexible billing schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the team from concept through rollout, ensuring high‑quality delivery of new features.
• Coach and develop engineers, fostering personal and professional growth.
• Partner with the Product Manager to shape the roadmap and prioritize work for maximum impact.
• Drive process improvements and own the technical strategy for the subscription product area.
• Contribute to Paddle’s data strategy, reliability, and scalability of its event‑driven system.

Required profile

• 2+ years of engineering management experience with multiple direct reports.
• Proven senior software engineering background on large‑scale, cloud‑based systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience working on payments, financial reconciliation, or recurring‑billing products.
