Engineering Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to lead internal R&D, technology development and new product introduction programmes for a UK‑based engineering and technology organisation. The role will coordinate multidisciplinary teams across software, electronics, systems and mechanical engineering to turn innovative concepts into manufactured products.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and resource internal engineering projects from concept through design, verification and manufacture.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment on scope, technical requirements and deliverables.
• Monitor progress against milestones, budgets and timelines, reporting status to senior stakeholders.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Facilitate design reviews, technical reviews and stage‑gate governance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned for future programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Engineering Project Manager or a Project Engineer ready to step into a dedicated management role.
• Strong understanding of R&D and product development lifecycles in safety‑critical sectors such as defence, maritime, offshore or scientific applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
