Engineering Service Manager

As Engineering Service Manager you will combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver exceptional customer service and support the company’s continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support a team of service engineers, providing technical guidance and day‑to‑day leadership.
• Carry out hands‑on service, repair and validation/calibration work alongside the team.
• Act as the senior point of contact for customers, handling queries and resolving issues professionally.
• Support commercial activities, including pricing of labour and spare parts.
• Assess warranty claims and make balanced, informed decisions.
• Contribute to the growth and profitability of service contracts.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and relevant accreditation requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement, focusing on efficiency, consistency and high first‑time‑fix rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a service or field engineer with leadership or management responsibility.
• Strong technical capability and willingness to lead by example in a hands‑on environment.
• Confident communicator able to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• Commercially aware, balancing customer satisfaction with business needs.
• Resilient and solution‑focused, especially in challenging situations.
• Familiarity with UKAS accreditation requirements.
