Engineering Stores Assistant – Manufacturing Warehouse

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Stores Assistant to join a busy manufacturing environment in the Cambourne/Sandy area. You will play a key part in ensuring that parts and materials are received, stored, controlled and issued accurately to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Receive goods, verify paperwork and record items in the stock system.
• Pick and issue parts or materials to production and engineering teams.
• Maintain stock control through location management, regular checks and cycle counts.
• Keep accurate records using both electronic stock systems and paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping and safe manual handling in the stores/warehouse.
• Operate a forklift where trained and licensed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in stores, material handling or warehouse environments.
• Background in manufacturing or engineering stores.
• Forklift certificate or licence is advantageous; training can be arranged.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and basic IT competence.
• Own transport essential due to the rural location.

What we offer

• Permanent position with a salary of £16.00 per hour (£32,448 per year).
• Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half (£24.00 per hour).
• 39‑hour week with early finish on Fridays.
