Engineering Stores Operative

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Stores Operative to manage the day‑to‑day operations of our engineering stores at the Bridgwater site. You will ensure that parts and materials are available when needed, helping to minimise downtime and support efficient site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily running of the engineering stores, maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Order and replenish engineering parts and consumables.
• Liaise with suppliers to source parts, obtain costings and manage lead times.
• Receive, check and put away deliveries accurately.
• Maintain stock control and ensure stock accuracy at all times.
• Use SAP to manage ordering, stock and inventory records.
• Issue parts to engineers and respond to their requirements.
• Work proactively and independently to keep the stores organised and efficient.

Required profile

• Experience in a stores, warehouse or stock‑control role, preferably within manufacturing or engineering.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Proactive and able to take initiative.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar inventory management system).
• Forklift operation (licence or willingness to be trained).
