English Early Career Teacher – Southport & Crosby Secondary Schools

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) of English to join supportive secondary schools across Southport and Crosby. You will work with experienced mentors and benefit from strong induction programmes as you develop your classroom practice.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Support students in developing reading, writing and communication skills.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of both English Language and English Literature learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to a positive school culture.

Required profile

• Qualified English ECT or trainee teacher due to achieve QTS by September 2026.
• Passionate about secondary English teaching with strong subject knowledge.
• Committed to raising attainment and supporting student progress.
• Legal right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
