English Language & Literature Teacher – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate English Language & Literature Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Southwark, London, from September 2026. The role is full‑time, covering Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English Language and Literature lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support their progression.
• Contribute to curriculum development, literacy initiatives and enrichment activities.
• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Use assessment data to track progress and inform future planning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Relevant degree in English, English Literature or a related subject.
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting; early‑career teachers are welcome.
• Strong subject knowledge across a broad range of texts and literary concepts.
• Commitment to supporting all learners to achieve their full potential.
