English Lecturer (GCSE & Functional Skills) – Variable Hours

About the role

Leeds College of Building is seeking an enthusiastic English Lecturer to join its cross‑college English team. You will teach GCSE English Language and Functional Skills to a diverse cohort of learners, including 16‑18 year olds, apprentices and adult students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality GCSE English Language lessons.
• Teach Functional Skills English to post‑16 learners.
• Support learners of mixed ability to achieve their targets.
• Contribute to a collaborative team focused on raising achievement and removing barriers to learning.

Required profile

• Passionate about teaching and improving student outcomes.
• Skilled in delivering both GCSE English Language and Functional Skills.
• Confident working with post‑16 learners of mixed ability.
• Ability to build strong relationships and motivate learners.
• Highly organised, proactive and collaborative.
