English Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Lecturer to join our supportive team at Leeds College of Building. You will deliver high‑quality English provision to a diverse learner base, including 16‑18 year‑olds, adult learners and apprentices. The role focuses on improving literacy skills and ensuring every student can access excellent education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons for full‑time and part‑time learners.
• Develop resources that address barriers to learning and promote inclusive practice.
• Support learners in achieving their academic and vocational goals.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Strong classroom management and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities.
• Understanding of learning barriers and strategies to overcome them.
• Passion for student progress, achievement and future pathways.
• Commitment to safeguarding, Prevent and inclusive values.
