English Teacher – Full‑time Temporary Role

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking qualified English teachers for a full‑time, temporary placement across several secondary schools in Gravesend. The role runs from September to December 2026, offering the chance to gain varied classroom experience and make a tangible impact on student learning during a critical part of the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit different classroom environments and student needs.
• Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
• Manage behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student progress.
• Uphold safeguarding and wellbeing standards at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in English.
• Ability to adapt to different school settings.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS disclosure and any required overseas police clearances.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
