English Teacher (KS3‑4) – Full‑time, London

About the role

We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join a good secondary school in London. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting pupils with low literacy levels and a range of SEN needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and monitor their progress.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs, including SEN provisions.
• Collaborate with the English and SEN departments to raise attainment.
• Assess and record student achievement, providing constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a degree in English or related field.
• Experience or willingness to work with low‑literacy and SEN pupils.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate students.
• Commitment to the school’s high expectations and inclusive ethos.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
• Understanding of GCSE assessment requirements.
• Ability to design differentiated learning activities.
