English Teacher (KS3/KS4) – Temporary Full‑time Role

About the role

We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join a well‑regarded secondary school in Carlisle for the autumn term of 2026. The position runs from September 2026 until Christmas 2026 and offers a full‑time, classroom‑based role teaching both English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons for KS3 and KS4 English.
• Mark student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to departmental planning and collaborate with senior leadership.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold school policies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and ability to inspire young learners.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
