English Teacher – Maternity Cover (Sept 2026 – Apr 2027)

About the role

The school is seeking a passionate English Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2026 to April 2027. You will teach English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students in a vibrant secondary school in South London.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire a love of reading and writing across all ability levels.
• Collaborate with the English department to maintain high academic standards.
• Support students to achieve strong outcomes and contribute to pastoral care.
• Participate actively in wider school life and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching qualification recognised by UK ENIC.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
• Ability to deliver outstanding English lessons and maintain high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
• Passion for raising attainment and inspiring young people.
