English Teacher – Secondary School (Key Stages 3‑5)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Havering, East London. The role covers teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates. The start date is September 2026, or earlier by agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high‑quality English lessons that motivate and challenge students.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with the national curriculum.
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop an outstanding English curriculum.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and provide pastoral support.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in English or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
• High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development.
