English Teacher – Secondary School (Milton Keynes)

About the role

We are partnering with an inclusive secondary school in Milton Keynes to recruit a passionate English Teacher. The role starts in September 2026 and can be taken on a permanent or contract basis, offering a supportive environment for both experienced teachers and early‑career teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities where appropriate.
• Design creative activities that develop reading, writing, analysis and communication skills.
• Introduce a wide range of literary texts, from classics to contemporary works.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of SEND and EAL learners.
• Foster a classroom culture that encourages confidence, discussion and independent thinking.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and track improvement.
• Collaborate with the English department on curriculum development, literacy initiatives and enrichment programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified English Teacher with QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
• Creative, enthusiastic and able to make English accessible to all learners.
• Effective classroom management and behaviour‑management skills.
• Team‑oriented, reflective and committed to continuous professional development.
• Early‑Career Teachers are encouraged to apply, with mentoring support available.
