About the role

Key responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 pupils (KS5 experience desirable).
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive lessons.
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment and departmental activities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote high‑quality teaching and learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Commitment to raising achievement and inspiring a love of English.
• Professional communication and a positive attitude.
