English Teacher – Secondary Schools (Bury)

About the role

Veritas Education is recruiting English Teachers for secondary schools in Bury. The positions are available for immediate start and for September, offering day‑to‑day supply cover, short‑term assignments and longer‑term roles.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons for KS3 and KS4 (KS5 optional).
• Teach literature and language, supporting reading and writing development.
• Follow school schemes of work or deliver pre‑planned lessons.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Inspire students and foster a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, or experienced unqualified English teacher.
• Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language.
• Experience teaching in UK secondary schools.
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Reliable, flexible and committed.
