English Teacher – SEMH Secondary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a passionate English Teacher to join a supportive SEM‑H secondary school in Southwark. The role starts in September 2026 on a permanent, full‑time basis and focuses on delivering engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with SEM‑H challenges.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing targeted interventions where required.
• Collaborate with pastoral teams and support staff to promote wellbeing and academic achievement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive teaching methods.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Commitment to supporting learners with additional needs.
