About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a secondary school in Knowsley starting September 2026. The role focuses on delivering engaging English lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, with the possibility of extending to Key Stage 5.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver creative English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Monitor student progress and contribute to departmental initiatives.
- Participate in wider school community activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of English language and literature.
- Excellent communication and classroom management abilities.
- Positive, adaptable attitude with a commitment to safeguarding.
