About the role

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, accessible English lessons across Key Stages.
• Support learners with diverse social, emotional and academic needs.
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes engagement and resilience.
• Differentiate work to meet individual learning requirements.
• Manage behaviour using consistent, supportive strategies.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole‑school initiatives.
• Collaborate with the pastoral team to remove barriers to learning.
• Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) with strong subject knowledge.
• Experience teaching students who require additional support.
• Patience, adaptability and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Commitment to creating opportunities for student success.
