English Teacher with Middle Leadership Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join Dibden Park School on a 12‑month maternity cover. The role combines classroom teaching with middle‑leadership responsibilities, allowing you to influence the development of English across the school while supporting pupils with autism and additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons for secondary pupils.
• Lead the development of the English curriculum, promoting high‑quality teaching and a love of reading and writing.
• Collaborate with learning support assistants, therapists and multidisciplinary staff to personalise learning pathways.
• Develop, monitor and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
• Use trauma‑informed approaches to support pupils’ social, emotional and academic growth.
• Build strong relationships with families and external professionals.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in secondary English teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to work with pupils who have autism or additional needs.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, student‑centred practice.

What we offer

• Salary £45,000 per annum (fixed‑term, term‑time only).
