English Trainee Teacher – Salaried & Funded Training

About the role

We are seeking a high‑achieving English graduate to join a Good & Outstanding secondary school on the outskirts of Slough. You will start as an academic mentor/teaching assistant, supporting English lessons and delivering targeted interventions, before progressing to a fully funded, salaried teacher‑training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist English teachers across KS3‑KS5, delivering support and interventions.
• Identify individual student needs and help design personalised progress plans.
• Gradually take on teaching timetable responsibilities under mentor guidance.
• Participate in a structured, salaried teacher‑training programme leading to QTS.

Required profile

• 1st or 2:1 degree in English or a related subject from a reputable university.
• Strong academic record at A‑Level and GCSE.
• Enthusiastic, resilient and confident communication style.
