Enterprise Architect – Data Lake & Finance Systems (Remote/Glasgow)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide strategic leadership across a complex technology environment. The role will shape architecture for data lake, finance systems and related cloud, integration and AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy, principles, standards and roadmaps.
• Provide architectural leadership across platforms, applications, data, cloud and integration services.
• Establish architecture governance, including review boards and design assurance processes.
• Develop target‑state architectures and reference models supporting organisational priorities.
• Guide strategic programmes such as finance system transformation, data platform development, AI adoption and automation.
• Deliver architectural direction for Microsoft‑centric environments including Azure, Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks, technical debt and duplication.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, delivery teams and suppliers to embed architecture in procurement, design and delivery.
• Lead a small team of specialist technology professionals and manage platform budgets of £500k‑£1m.

Required profile

• Significant experience in enterprise architecture within large, complex organisations.
• Proven ability to design architectures spanning business systems, cloud platforms, data environments and integrations.
• Experience establishing architecture governance and assurance processes.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts to senior non‑technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of security, compliance and risk considerations in enterprise settings.
• Track record of supporting large‑scale transformation and technology modernisation programmes.
