Enterprise SAP Architect

About the role

The Enterprise SAP Architect will define and govern the target architecture for a global consumer health organisation’s SAP S/4 core platform. You will set technical direction, shape the template for a worldwide rollout and work closely with the Systems Integrator to ensure a scalable, standardised solution that meets business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Own and define the target architecture for the SAP S/4 core platform.
• Lead architecture governance and establish architecture principles, design standards and guardrails.
• Challenge unnecessary customisation and promote SAP standard functionality.
• Collaborate with the Systems Integrator, enterprise architecture and specialist architects across integration, data, security and analytics.
• Support the design of a viable target state covering business processes, data, technology and integration.
• Shape the technical template for the global S/4 rollout and provide input into roadmap and delivery decisions.
• Promote adoption of SAP tools such as S/4 Private Cloud, Cloud ALM, Joule and LeanIX.
• Document architecture decisions and provide hands‑on guidance to delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
• Leverage AI and automation where they can improve migration, implementation and future operations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in SAP architecture, particularly SAP S/4HANA.
• Proven track record on large, complex SAP transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of target‑state architecture, template design and governance.
• Ability to challenge Systems Integrator designs and ensure business‑focused outcomes.
• Broad knowledge of ERP processes such as finance, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing and master data.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience in large or regulated organisations with a focus on simplification and reducing technical debt.
