Entity Controller

About the role

Travelport is seeking an Entity Controller to join its Finance team in Langley, UK. The role sits within the America General Ledger (GL) team and supports accounting for the company’s principal US operating entities and its US‑based global technology business. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Accounting, the controller will be responsible for the integrity of the trial balance and the preparation of financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end timetables, resolve bottlenecks and escalate issues as needed.
• Review trial balances, revenue, cost of revenue, operating expense and balance‑sheet variances, providing detailed analysis and commentary.
• Collaborate with the outsourced BPO partner to achieve agreed objectives and support global standardisation efforts.
• Oversee general ledger accounting for complex transactions across Travelport Americas and direct functional work of team members.
• Prepare, review and approve manual journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and other adjusting entries with appropriate documentation.
• Perform analytical reviews during month‑end close to identify and correct accounting issues.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure control accounts are cleared.
• Produce legal entity reporting packs with balance‑sheet and P&L analysis for external auditors.

Required profile

• Strong experience in general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes.
• Ability to analyse and explain P&L and balance‑sheet variances in detail.
• Experience working with outsourced accounting partners or BPOs.
• Proven capability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder interaction.
