Environmental Monitoring Manager

About the role

Tarmac Trading Limited is looking for an Environmental Monitoring Manager to lead and coordinate environmental monitoring activities for its Land & Natural Resources business unit based in Loughborough. The role will drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of monitoring programmes that support regulatory compliance and sustainability objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage environmental monitoring plans across multiple sites.
• Collect, analyse and interpret monitoring data to assess environmental performance.
• Prepare accurate reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators.
• Ensure all monitoring activities comply with relevant legislation and company standards.
• Lead and develop a small team of monitoring technicians.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate monitoring insights into operational decisions.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in environmental science, ecology or a related field.
• Proven experience in environmental monitoring and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership experience managing small technical teams.
