Environmental/Sustainability Compliance Lead

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Environment and Sustainability Compliance professional to lead our integrated management systems, environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Estates & Facilities Manager, you will shape and deliver our long‑term environmental strategy while ensuring legislative compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for environmental compliance and sustainability matters.
• Monitor health, safety and environmental legislation and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Lead compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and prepare annual SECR submissions.
• Develop, implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Achieve and maintain ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 14064 and ISO 45001 accreditations.
• Deliver the Environmental Sustainability Action Plan and support future sustainability strategies.
• Maintain and review environmental aspects and impacts registers.
• Analyse and report health, safety and environmental performance data to senior stakeholders.
• Implement audit, inspection and risk‑assessment recommendations.
• Develop and deliver sustainability communications across the organisation.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate environmental and health & safety training for employees.
• Engage suppliers and tenants to support carbon reduction objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in environmental and sustainability compliance.
• Passion for environmental sustainability, health & safety and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work proactively and lead cross‑functional initiatives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme).
• Experience preparing SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting) submissions.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 14064 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Integrated Management System (IMS) development and maintenance.
• Environmental aspects and impacts register management.
• Data analysis and performance reporting.
• Audit, inspection and risk‑assessment implementation.
• Incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Environmental and health & safety training coordination.
