Escalator Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Escalator Technician to join our Greater London field service team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, refurbishment and repair of escalators at high‑profile transport sites, working a structured 12‑hour shift pattern with no on‑call rota.

Key responsibilities

• Perform escalator maintenance, inspections, surveys and fault resolution in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Carry out technical assessments, diagnose faults and deliver timely repairs or refurbishments.
• Monitor site safety, ensure compliance, complete risk assessments and oversee subcontractor performance.
• Manage technical queries, procure materials and liaise with clients to support smooth project delivery.
• Produce clear documentation, progress reports, incident reports and cost‑reporting for operational decision‑making.
• Mentor and train field engineers, sharing expertise to build a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Significant experience as an escalator engineer, preferably based within the M25.
• Proven ability to work independently on transport infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to work night shifts (19:00‑07:00) on a 4‑on‑4‑off rota.
