Escalator Technician – London Shift Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Escalator Technician to join Stannah’s field service team in Greater London. The role involves senior‑level installation, maintenance, refurbishment and repair of escalators across transport hubs such as Gatwick and Stansted stations, working on a structured 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern.

Key responsibilities

• Perform escalator maintenance, inspections, surveys and fault resolution in line with safety and quality standards.
• Monitor site safety, compliance and the performance of engineers and subcontractors, completing risk assessments and required documentation.
• Manage technical queries, procure materials and liaise with clients to ensure timely service delivery.
• Produce clear process documentation and cost reports to support operational decisions.
• Mentor and train field engineers, sharing expertise to build a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an escalator engineer, preferably residing within the M25.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (19:00‑07:00) on a 4‑on‑4‑off roster with no on‑call duties.
• Strong commitment to health and safety in high‑profile, safety‑critical environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and capacity to produce accurate technical documentation.
